DPLA Member Brown Bag: Creating the Black Women's Suffrage Collection
In this brown bag, DPLA director of community engagement Shaneé Yvette Murrain and DPLA developer Audrey Altman will discuss opportunities, challenges and learnings encountered during the creation of the Black Women’s Suffrage Digital Collection. This will include a look at the different strategies they employed to help surface stories about Black women from DPLA's aggregation of more than 40 million artifacts that are largely by, about, and described by white people and men and will end with a group discussion about related work. Note: Member Brown Bags include a short presentation followed by group discussion. They are meant to be a time together to come together as a community to discuss our work, and as such are presented "meeting style" rather than "webinar style."
